VACCINATIONS

CANINE VACCINE PROTOCOL

DHLPPCV (DISTEMPER-PARVO-CORONA COMBINATION VACCINE

Initial vaccine may be given at 6-8 weeks –after initial vaccination then booster should be given 3-4 weeks later, and for certain breeds a 3rd booster is recommended. Once the last booster is given then a yearly vaccination is recommended.

RABIES VACCINE

Initial vaccination given is valid for 1 year in Nebraska. After first year, subsequent vaccinations are valid for 2 years. A metal numbered tag is given with each vaccination.

BORDETELLA (KENNEL COUGH) VACCINE

Initial vaccination given at 8 weeks – after initial vaccination a booster should be given 3-4 weeks later. Once the last booster is given, a yearly booster is recommended but can be administered every 6 months.

FELINE VACCINE PROTOCOL

FVRC (DISTEMPER-CORONA) VACCINE

Initial vaccination may be given at 6-8 weeks – after initial vaccination a booster should be given 3-4 weeks later. Once the last booster is given then a yearly vaccination is recommended.

FELV (LEUKEMIA) VACCINE

Initially a Feline Leukemia/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus test should be done prior to first vaccination of any kitten or cat. If the test is negative, then a vaccination for leukemia can be given. A booster should be given 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccination. After the last booster, a yearly vaccination is recommended.
